Who’s the master of your fate? Today, I came across a video that really spoke to me, after I had spent a good portion of the day thinking about a poem that has inspired millions over the years.

What I love about the poem, is that it’s not bombastic, nor sees the world through rose-colored glasses. Rather, it recognizes the hardships that life can throw our way sometimes, and it compels us to take control of our actions.

First, here’s the poem, then scroll below for the video.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gait,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Master of your Fate

It is a challenge to do so on a daily basis, but I encourage you to watch the advice in both the video and the poem. While it is fine and good to believe in God, you cannot be passive about your life. You have to take responsibility as master of your fate to go after what you want. No one will come find you to give you want you want. Go get it!

What are the 4 most important areas of your life? If you have never taken the time to identify them so you can focus, take a look at What’s in your Quadrant, then watch this video: https://www.facebook.com/DePeLabirint/videos/798387753631604/.
