In my book I talk about paying the price of success. What does that mean?

Here’s the excerpt.

Don’t agonize about overselling yourself, whether as an employee or as a business owner. If you’re an employee, recognize that not every employer is right for you. If you own a business, don’t try to sell to “everybody.”

It is exhausting, and frankly not worth it.

Work with people you like. Work with the people and organizations that are a good fit. If you own a tattoo parlor, having a little section to sell snacks and beverages makes sense.

Sometimes in our haste to make money, we throw everything at the wall, all at once, to see what sticks.

That’s a recipe for exhaustion, not success. Be strategic.

Go on the hunt for who wants what you have to offer, and take advantage of that.
